About this Show

This week I will be speaking with Dr. Cohen, author of his new book, I Carry Your Heart in My Heart, which recounts his experiences working for over five years with murderers in a US prison using the Systemic Family Constellation method. We all carry unresolved traumas of our own past and our family system. Antisocial behavior is a symptom of these traumas and an attempt to manage complex feelings and unconscious loyalties. Dan’s work demonstrates clearly that “peace of mind, reconciliation, and forgiveness are always within reach.” Indeed, one inmate speaks of an inner freedom he was never able to attain while “free” outside prison. Dan’s work has not only affected the inmates he has worked with but also the volunteers from outside the prison. To quote from his book, “How unlikely is it that a highly-educated, successful professional woman would ask a group of men convicted of murder for help to restore her marriage or find freedom from the bonds of depression?”

About the Guest Speaker

Dr. Dan Booth Cohen is an internationally known spiritual healer who helps individuals and families resolve their most difficult conflicts and problems. He uses an emotionally grounded and deeply profound European method known as a Systemic Family Constellation.

He begins each session with the question: What is your issue? The answer can be anything that is urgent and can be described in a few sentences. He is equally comfortable sitting with convicted murderers in prison or children of Nazi perpetrators and Holocaust survivors in Germany, as he is in the privacy of multi-million dollar homes with wealthy individuals and families. Most of his clients are ordinary people who struggle with the ordinary problems of our times, such as relationship conflicts, loneliness, depression, addiction, and physical illnesses.

Dr. Cohen is the author of a new book: I Carry Your Heart in My Heart. As the title suggests, we all carry the memory of past traumas and heartaches inside of us. When we really tune into these feelings on a deep soul level, new possibilities for positive change and growth open up. The process can be done individually, in groups, and even by telephone.
Dan Booth Cohen has more than 30 years of experience in the art of counseling and peacemaking. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a Ph.D. in psychology from Saybrook Graduate School. He trained in the Family Constellation approach directly with Bert Hellinger and many of the world’s foremost practitioners and teachers.
Dan, his wife KK, and their daughters, Anna and Rosalie, live in Needham, Massachusetts.
